Memoir is I suppose somewhere between truth and fiction.
An obituary seems to focus on things that matter to others, whereas memoir gives writers a chance to focus on those things that matter to them.
There is a hope that it might be published, but as I write, I realise that the general public may not my audience.
Rather my audience is more likely my family, and after that, adults who were abandoned as children, and have struggled to survive it. Finally, it's for the 99 people who had a profound and positive influence on me becoming the person I am. (Rather than becoming an alcoholic or a heroin addict...)
Above all, it's a vindication that sometimes blood has nothing to do with love at all.
